SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGIST- (UNIX WEBLOGIC ENGINEER/SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR) (Code 04-000418): Assists in Sempra Energyâs Unix Server environment supporting our Internet/Intranet Web environment. Responsible for the engineering and administrative support for a variety of UNIX servers supporting Web infrastructure. The primary focus will be in support of the BEA Weblogic Application and Portal servers. Responsible for supporting related technologies such as iPlanet Web Servers, Netegrity Web Access Control servers, Sun One LDAP servers, and a variety of management components for web services. Performs traditional Unix Systems Engineering tasks, such as analysis, design, version control, change control, capacity planning and tools analysis as well as application deployment. Implements and maintains Weblogic Security Service configurations including authentication, authorization and identity assertion providers. Assists developers in tuning and configuring various parameters for optimum performance. Performs assorted computer and network related tasks, such as installing, configuring, and maintaining software infrastructure such as web servers, compilers, etc. as required. Effectively documents work using standard formats.
Requirements: A bachelor or masterâs degree in Information Technology Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines. Must have seven years direct experience in roles of increasing responsibility. Experience in systems integration and development, security standards and protocols is highly desirable. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, in both technical and business contexts. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities. Must have the ability to work independently as well as with a team. Requires strong unit and integration testing skills. Must have solid administrative knowledge of the Sun Solaris and IBM AIX Server environment is required, including isolating faults and correcting faults. Experience with Weblogic administrative tools, J2EE services and patterns desirable. Experience with other UNIX environments such as HP UNIX and Linux would be desirable. Experience with NT Server, and other EJB/J2EE application servers such as IBM Websphere would be desirable. Complete life-cycle experience is desirable, including complete support of the UNIX Server Platform. Experience with various Web Servers such as iPlanet, and Apache; Web Load Balancing Hardware such as CISCO Content Switches desirable.
